“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me.”Erma Bombeck“
What if they don’t like anything I do?” I said as I stared at my feet in the closet and packed for Atlanta. The same feelings of doubt crept over me and brought me back to the memory of staring at my feet when I cried in the garden center 15 years ago over the same thing. A professor in college made it perfectly clear I wasn’t his cup of tea when it came to design. And, even after all these years, the feelings were just as raw as they were then.
I carefully packed the portfolio of hopes and dreams to take to Atlanta. I poured myself into making sweet little collections and drawings that I would want to sell as a retailer. I prayed over this opportunity. I met my sweet friend and mentor, Kellie Montana and handed them over to her and I think let out a sigh of relief. If it had not been for Kellie, I probably would still be hiding my work in all those multi media pads.
As I was shopping for the store, I got the call I had I only dreamed I would hear. A company wanted my art! It hardly felt real sitting there in that room, talking about my little drawings that were now going to be sold in largest to the trade companies for licensed art. A DREAM COME TRUE.
So, today I encourage to you to chase your dreams! No matter how hard or how far away they seem, keep trying. You were created to do amazing things.
